MYSTERYLAND & SENSATION

15 YEARS OF MYSTERYLAND DOCUMENTARY

I was approached by ID&T to make a documentary celebrating the 15th year history of the first and oldest electronic music festival in The Netherlands, Mysteryland. Starting out in 1993 they were pioneers in what would turn out to be a billion dollar industry (electronic music and the festivals). I dove into their archive footage and followed the creation of the 2008 edition. The documentary was released on DVD in 2009 and was aired on TV celebrating their 15th year aniversary. Mysterland still is one of the leading electronic music festivals of the Netherlands, spreading out to Chile and USA. It also is the mother of Tomorrowworld, which outgrew it's mother 10fold being one of the, if not leading electronic music festival in the world.

LOST & FOUND a Mysteryland movie

Being inspired by the festival I wanted to create short movie idea I had and Mysteryland gave me a small budget and all acces to make it work. The idea was someone waking up at a festival, looking for his lost belongings we see flashbacks of what transpired earlier and in doing so we experience his transformation from hardstyle, to hippy to finding love. Shot on RED and made with friends.

SENSATION INNERSPACE TRAILER

With my work for Mysteryland I caugh the eye of Sensation, the leading international dance event at the time. I pitched a edit for a idea they had, which eventually turned into the trailer for their new show, Innerspace. The concept was to follow the stages to enlightment as we progress trough the evening. The Innerspace show had a revolutionary ceiling with hunderds of computer controlled led spheres which transformed the stadium into something nobody had ever seen before, making it one of the most iconic shows in the series. The trailer concept, editing and music selection was done by me. Visuals were done at Storm Post production.
